Creative Critical Reflection Draft 4

4. How did you integrate technologies-software, hardware, and online-in this project?
When we filmed our final project we borrowed a Canon T5i rebel from Mr. Elsbree which was very effective as there was an excellent image quality and was very easy to use. When we filmed our first draft of the movie we did not realize that the microphones were off because there was no way to tell on the other camera we used. However, this time on the Canon T5i Rebel we could see the sound was working because of the sound level meter in the corner of the camera. We also used a tripod during filming so the camera would not be shaky and provided stability especially with the wind. Once we finished filming we used Adobe Premiere to edit the entire film. This program was very helpful as it allowed us to cut certain scenes and to change the transitions between the scenes. We also found a clip of seagulls that was non- copyrighted from youtube and used the editing program to include throughout the film. Once we had all of the scenes combined and played the movie, we noticed that the sound was very loud because the microphone was placed too close to the actors. Luckily, the editing software allowed us to lower the audio gain at certain loud parts where the actors were screaming and also evened out the rest of the scenes so the audio would match. Adobe Premiere also had lots of fonts that were spooky that we could use for the title of our film and for the credits. The font creates an intimidating and frightening fear in the audience to show that the film is part of the horror genre. After we finished editing the video we uploaded the video to youtube so all of the group members could publish the film on each of our blogs. Overall, the use of the Canon T5i Rebel camera, Adobe Premiere, and Youtube was very helpful in creating our movie.
