Revision

After viewing our film, The Lost, in class we decided that it would be the best idea for us to completely redo our film. Not only had we experienced sound problems but we also decided that our location was not easy with the different camera angles we were trying to achieve. In the first draft of our film, we were filming at the Siesta Key Broken Pier. We thought this would be a good idea because it is not crowded, is easily accessible, and is very fitting for the plot of our film. However, we realized that filming at the beach was very difficult when trying to keep the camera still and trying to block out the wind. The day that we chose to film was especially windy and caused our camera to be shaky as the person holding the camera was also walking through the sand on an uneven surface. After we filmed the first draft we realized that we may need to change out location to a place where our actors can sit down and have a conversation rather than walking during it. This was when we decided to film on the picnic tables at the viewing platform on Siesta Key rather than the pier. This allowed us to set the camera on a tripod on a picnic table to film Rachel and Shane's conversation so the camera would not shake in our hands. The change of location also had access to a parking lot which allowed us to change certain issues in our plot. The location also had many poles and palm trees that we could hang missing posters on which helped the atmosphere of our film. Overall, the change of location was very beneficial to our film because of the better weather conditions and it allowed us to revise issues within our plot.
