Revision
After receiving feedback from the class and Mr. Elsbree, we decided that it would look best if we completely redid the film. There were many issues within the film however, the major problem was the fact that there was barely any sound. When we started filming at the beach we thought our microphones were on and working, however that was not the case. Once we went back to edit our film we were frustrated because we realized the microphones were not working the entire time. Our second plan was to just do a voice over and see if that would work and blend well together. The weather was very windy the day that we decided to film, so when we tried a voice over it was silent but the viewers could see there was wind blowing their hair around. The voice over was also ineffective because the lips and the words did not match while they were talking. While we were editing we tried to put background noise such as seagulls and waves but they sounded strange with the voice over so we ditched that idea. When we filmed the second time Mr. Elsbree spent more time with us explaining the microphones and how to know if they were working so we would not run into the same problem. We hid the microphone on Rachel's keys so that it would pick up Shane and Rachel's voice because there was only one microphone available to us. We knew the sound was working while we were filming because the camera had a setting which showed the different audio levels displaying the voices into the microphone. Once we edited our final film we found that the sound did work and we were relieved. While editing, we fixed the sound levels because the voices sounded a little loud and harsh in the different scenes. Overall, our decision to completely redo our film was very beneficial because it allowed us to fix the sound problems we experienced the first time.
